Japanese Lessons


Konnichiwa,
This year a group of Room 11 have been learning Japanese every Friday. We really enjoy it and are becoming really good. We have learnt some basic words such as:

Hai - Yes
Sugoi - Awesome
San - Miss or Mrs

What's your favourite Colour and Fruit?

Ringo - Apple
Ichigo - Strawberry
Momo - Peach
Suika - Watermelon
Kiwi - Kiwifruit
Ao -Blue
Midori - Green
Aka - Red

Numbers from 0 - 10

0 - Rei or Zero
1 - Ichi
2 - Ni
3 - San
5 - Go
6 - Roku
7 - Nana
8 - Hachi
9 - Ku
10 - Ju

One of Arnia's favourite fruits is Strawberries. This is Ichigo in Japanese.
Diamond's favourite colour is Midori which is green.

  1. It is great to speak another language, well done. I learnt to count in Japanese when I was your age during karate. We had to count to ten as we did push-ups!

    I love Japanese lessons! Ms.Koriamma Sensei is so cool and funny during Japanese (sometimes!). My favourite fruit is ichigo (strawberry) and my favourite number is Go (5)... and Ni (2)...
    Too bad we only have two terms to learn it! :(

  4. Ano... Yoku dekimashita! Sumemasen! I meant great job! But some spelling errors are in there, like Ju and Ku its Jyu and Kyu and it's zeiro (as a sharp r so it can sound bit more Japanese!).Also Nana can also be said as shichi! Nana is normally used more often after Jyu!!! So yeah! Oh and you forgot four! Shi is four incase you were wondering!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. And to add to Michael's comment, after 10, you say "Yon" not Shi for 4 (I did Japanese at high school - kookoo de nihongo o benkyoo shimashita - I have forgotten most of it now - I always remember the word for apple though because of Ringo Starr!!!
